What's Up With Shilajit?

For Brain Health:

Shilajit has been the focal point of quite a few studies in the recent years. There are a couple studies in particular that talk about Shilajit and its role in the prevention of Alzheimer’s disease.  One of Black Lotus Shilajit's main components, fulvic acid, helps to detoxify the body of free radicals and toxic metals very efficiently. Many researchers suggest excess heavy metals in the body to be a potential cause of Alzheimers and other memory disorders. Shilajit is a potent and very safe dietary supplement, potentially able to prevent several diseases, but its main medical application now appears to come from its actions in benefit of cognition and potentially as a dietary supplement to prevent Alzheimer's disease. Recent investigations of a different study show that fulvic acid blocks tau self-aggregation as well. (Tau aggregates induce neuronal degeneration). This opens many other doors of possibilities in the search for preventing Alzheimer’s disease.

For Energy:

Shilajit is known for many different health benefits, one of the most notable benefits being taking Shilajit for energy. Shilajit helps to increase ATP(adenosine triphosphate), our body's primary source of energy. The mitochondria in each cell create this energy as it converts the many nutrients delivered from the Shilajit. One of the main components of Black Lotus Shilajit that makes it such an effective energy booster is its 64 percent fulvic acid content, which is the highest amount of naturally occurring fulvic acid known to man. The very high naturally occurring levels of fulvic acid in Black Lotus Shilajit help to deliver the wide range of nutrients to all cells in a very efficient manner.

Another set of compounds in Black Lotus Shilajit that are equally responsible for overall energy production are humic acids. The humic acids greatly help to speed up the delivery of nutrients to cells, which in turn is then converted into ATP. Some studies have even suggested that the humid acids in Shilajit are like a turbocharger for the mitochondria. Also, in nature, humic acids are what are found to break down nutrients in the soil and deliver them to plants in a proper manner. This is similarly how humic acid works in our bodies.

For Women:

Some of Shilajit's benefits for women include but are not limited to the following:

Improves Fertility

Shilajit improves the flow of nutrients and oxygen rich blood to the reproductive organs. It thoroughly assists with cleansing and detoxifying of the reproductive organs and promotes uterine health. Shilajit also greatly helps to burn fat in areas where there is excess in our bodies, and to regulate hormones, eventually making conceiving much more possible for women with related issues.

Improves Skin (Men have skin too...just saying...)

Because Shilajit is so high in antioxidants (higher than blueberries), it does an amazing job neutralizing toxins and free radicals that can cause much harm to our bodies. Free radicals in particular can really damage skin proteins and that can lead to premature aging of the skin and body in general.

Some benefits women report back from taking Shilajit are:

Smoother Skin

Less Dark Spots on Skin(Aging Spots)

More even skin tone

Helps with anemia and other iron related issues

It has been observed that regular consumption of Shilajit helps to increase red blood cell counts. The reason why this is particularly important for women is that during menstruation, valuable iron is lost, and sometimes is not properly replenished, leading to possible deficiencies. Shilajit increases hemoglobin and also helps to normalize loss of iron during menstruation, making it an excellent option for women who are, or think they are deficient in iron or have any issues with menstruation.

For Athletes:

It is no secret that Shilajit has been used by athletes and other very physically active people across the world for quite some time now, and that is because of a few good reasons.

Ultimate Absorption of Minerals and Electolytes

One reason is because Shilajit's high mineral content greatly assists in replacing vital electrolytes, making it much easier to maintain stamina and endurance. Not properly replacing those electrolytes can lead to increased fatigue and even different deficiencies over time, so it's very important to not overlook this when having a generally physical lifestyle. Shilajit's fulvic acid content helps to deliver nutrients deep into and out of our cells, making issues like digestion no longer a problem as far as absorbing the minerals one needs. Minerals like iron, calcium, and magnesium can easily be absorbed, clearing up many of the issues that people have in relation to mineral deficiencies.

Immense Energy Producer

Another way Shilajit benefits those who exercise, or those who just have very physically active lifestyles, is by greatly supporting the production of ATP(Adenosine Triphosphate), which is our bodies primary source of energy. Most supplements advertised for energy will temporarily give one a little boost, but very few actually work synergistically with the body to produce ATP, which one will never burn out from, but will rather have sufficient energy reserve levels built up, to then be used by our body as needed. In other words, Shilajit helps to build up our bodies true energy source, which helps to deeply nourish us and diminish symptoms related to fatigue and sluggishness.

Healthy Testosterone Levels

Testosterone is not only responsible for the development of male sexual organs, but is imperative in the development and growth of bone mass and muscle for both men and women, as well as maintaining brain function and energy. Aging is a factor that usually contributes to the decline of testosterone in men and women, and things like weight gain, hair loss, loss of libido, decrease in muscle and bone mass, and fatigue begin to occur. Shilajit helps to maintain healthy testosterone levels in both men and women.
